Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with the Taj Group of Hotels to create artworks that celebrate India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. From intricate pen-and-ink drawings and heritage-inspired murals to bespoke paintings and sculptural works, each commission was thoughtfully created to complement the unique character of its space. Together, these works reflect a shared vision of preserving tradition while enriching contemporary hospitality through art.

Commissioned by the iconic Taj Coromandel, this pen-and-ink collection celebrates the timeless beauty of South Indian heritage architecture. Each artwork was created to complement the elegance of the space while offering guests a glimpse into the region’s rich cultural and architectural legacy.

This mural was commissioned for Taj Southern Spice at Taj Coromandel, Chennai, where I drew inspiration from the rich traditions of South Indian art and culture. From the first sketch on canvas to the finished installation, every stage of its creation was a journey of storytelling, craftsmanship, and celebration of our artistic heritage.
Reimagining a Timeless Masterpiece
Inspired by the magnificent murals of the Veerabhadra Temple at Lepakshi, I recreated this iconic composition for Taj Southern Spice, Taj Coromandel, Chennai. While staying true to the spirit and visual richness of the original, I carefully interpreted every detail to create a work that complements the restaurant’s celebration of South India’s artistic and cultural heritage.
Reviving a Heritage Through Contemporary Art
For this commissioned work at Taj Southern Spice, Taj Coromandel, I drew inspiration from a rare mural tradition of Shravanabelagola. My goal was to preserve its timeless elegance while reinterpreting it on canvas, carefully recreating its intricate details, vibrant colours, and expressive character for a contemporary hospitality space.

For this commissioned series at Taj Vivanta, Kovalam, I moved beyond figurative art to explore the expressive power of colour and texture. Built through layered surfaces and carefully balanced compositions, each painting creates a quiet dialogue between light, space, and emotion. Designed specifically for the contemporary interiors of the hotel, these large-format works bring depth, warmth, and visual harmony to their surroundings.
